WHY SOME RACES ARE NOT
COVERED IN THIS VOTER'S GUIDE?
Some individual candidates
and races must be excluded for one or more of the following reasons:
(1) When a candidate is running uncontested. In these cases, voters
simply do not have a choice, so information is unnecessary. (2) When
both the Republican and Democrat candidate are uncontested, the
entire race may be eliminated. However, these two candidates will
face each other in the General Election, so the information will
appear in our Fall edition. (3) When candidates simply do not
provide enough meaningful information, a race may be eliminated for
reasons of space. (4) At the discretion of the
editors.
*
Indicates that the candidate made a
special point of adding a qualification to his or her answer.
**
Indicates candidate did not return
questionnaire and/or declined to answer by phone. Positions
indicated were derived from other resources, including legislative
records, local political organizations, etc.
Blanks after a candidate’s name
indicate that insufficient information was available for particular
issues or that candidate’s response did not provide a clear
indication of a position.
